Ganas & Go!
Mindful EPPP Journey & Beyond
You must be actively on or preparing for the EPPP licensing journey to join the Mindful EPPP Journey. Multiple test-takers are particularly welcome! I, Dr. Cheli passed on my 5th attempt, which is why I created this space for those on the licensing journey!
Please answer ALL membership questions to be added to the group. Check your DMs in case we have follow up questions.
Check in with yourself-- determine if you are in the Preparation, Action, or Maintenance stage of the Transtheoretical Model (bonus points if you know the theorists!) in your EPPP Journey. If so, then this group is likely for you!
Alumni: You've already crossed over (congratulations!) and you are welcome to stay in the group!! :D
The EPPP journey can be challenging. Let’s approach it with mindfulness, using this space to learn, share, and support mindful practices for tackling and passing the exam.
Be present and intentional in your interactions.
Your voice matters! This group thrives on collaboration and engagement. Share your experiences, offer support, and ask questions.
It’s okay to step back when needed, but regular participation helps foster a vibrant and supportive community.
Let’s create a welcoming, judgment-free environment. Treat everyone with kindness and mutual respect.
Healthy debates are encouraged, but antagonizing, bullying, or personal attacks are not tolerated. Constructive feedback is welcome—let’s give thoughtfully and receive with openness.
Sharing your struggles and fears takes courage. Vulnerability is a strength. Offer encouragement to those who open up, and be brave enough to do the same.
We’re all in this together. Success is not a limited resource, and we celebrate each other's wins. Let us lift each other up and avoid comparisons or competition.
Trust is key. The famous Vegas Rule: What’s shared in the ‘group’ stays in the ‘group’! You can share what you learned in the group, but not who shared it. –Here’s why:
Trust is the cornerstone of this space. We recognize that many of us come here carrying deep-seated experiences of fear, shame, and even “Academic PTSD”. This journey—often navigating what I call "unlicensed limbo"—requires a foundation of unwavering trust and mutual respect.
Most of us who have led groups know the strength and courage it takes to participate in groups. They offer a unique space to share openly without fear that our lives will be aired to the world.
Dr. Naudia, one of our OG founders often says, “When one person starts sharing their story, another one can pick up, and another can finish it. We all have similar experiences.” Let’s maintain a space where we respect the privacy of others and maintain this safe, secure and honest space so we can engage in supportive discussions.
You can share as little or as much as you’re comfortable with. We just ask you to show up “as is” (e.g., sad, angry, happy, scared). Just know that we are here if/and when we’re needed.
Bullying, hate speech, “just kidding,” or judgemental or degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, identity, or number of times taking the EPPP exam will not be tolerated. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and shame free. Admin reserves the right to remove posts and/or remove a member from the group. Please let us know if anyone is violating this agreement.
Self-promotion, spam, marketing, and irrelevant links are not allowed. Focus on giving more than you take to keep this group supportive and resourceful. Admin reserves the right to remove posts and/or remove a member from the group. Please let us know if anyone is violating this agreement.
This is a space for encouragement and inspiration. The Journey is hard yo! Share stories, tips, and practices that uplift yourself and others. We’re all after the same goal, being able to call ourselves what we are, Licensed Psychologists!
It’s also ok to talk about the hardships and be real about what we’re going through (e.g., “It feels good to release things without shame, feel validated, supported, and reconnect with the Ganas to keep going.”).
Take the time to process constructive feedback, respond thoughtfully, and support one another wholeheartedly.
And remember, another one of our founders, ‘OG Dr. Paty says: “It’s worth it. You deserve to do the work that you love!”
By embracing these guidelines, we can create a space that fosters growth, positivity, and collaboration on the path to licensure.
We cannot guarantee when you’ll pass, but we know you WILL.
This is Dr. Cheli’s philosophy and as she says, “I am where I am, and I’m taking steps to where I want to be.” And as we say here, with this community, it’s a matter of WHEN you’ll pass, not if!
Thank you for being part of this journey and for contributing to a mindful and uplifting community! Remember, you are an AMAZING license-eligible clinician, likely in “unlicensed limbo,” who is an Exceptional Psychologist Purposefully Persisting (EPPP)!!
